Redmi 8 India launches
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 8 in India, starting at Rs. 7,999
The budget-friendly smartphone will be available for anyone via Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Stores, starting October 12.
The phone accompanies a waterdrop notched design, dual rear cameras, physical fingerprint scanner, and entry-level internals include a Snapdragon 439 processor.
Redmi 8: At a glance
The Redmi 8 offers a comfortable waterdrop notched design with a noticeable bottom bezel. On the backside, the gradient finished polycarbonate board houses dual cameras and a physical fingerprint scanner.
It offers a 6.22-inch LCD display with an HD+ (720x1520 pixels) resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass 5 for screen protection.
Redmi 8 is a dual rear camera smartphone
The Redmi 8 pack with dual rear camera unit involves a 12MP (f/1.8) primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor for depth information.
The main camera offers AI-based photography highlights like AI Portrait just as AI Scene Detection and also supports 1080p video recording at up to 60fps.
For selfies, the handset gets an 8MP (f/2.0) snapper.
Redmi 8 powered by Snapdragon 439 processor
The Redmi 8 is fueled by the Snapdragon 439 processor, combined with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB of capacity.
Inside, it runs Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support (10W charger inbox).
Also, it offers all standard connectivity options including dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, Type-C port, FM radio (wireless), and a headphone jack.
Pricing and availability details
The Redmi 8 starts Rs. 7,999 for the entry-level 3GB/32GB model and Rs. 8,999 for 4GB/64GB variation.
